Sean Lee

Sean is a corporate and commercial special situations specialist. Leveraging on his expertise and experience in corporate finance, capital markets, banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions and financial services regulation, Sean is able to offer his clients a cross-disciplinary approach through complex and often high-stakes scenarios. Clients look to him to provide holistic and strategic advice in any special situation that they encounter.

Since his early legal years, Sean has been consistently recognised as a rising star in the field of corporate restructuring and insolvency. Equally comfortable in contentious and non-contentious restructuring, Sean regularly advises on major group restructuring projects involving multiple jurisdictions, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and offshore jurisdictions. He also represents a range of stakeholders in corporate restructuring and turnaround situations — the financially stressed or distressed companies, the creditors, the shareholders, and the white knight investors. Sean has received multiple commendations and accolades from clients and regional ranking publications, including Asialaw, IFLR and Legal 500, since 2019.

In his free time, Sean loves to tinker with his smart home tech and equipment, much to the annoyance of his wife. Out of doors, Sean is an amateur pickleball enthusiast, though at the moment he spends more time running after the ball. He is confident will get better, as he has with his other favourite sports (admittedly through persistence rather than athleticism).
